Hello there, My name is Shashi and I am a native of India. I moved to the UK for my further education, and now I have lived in the UK since September 2005. When I first came to the UK, my English was very poor. I had studied English at school for almost 10 years, but that education was totally exam oriented and we studied only to get good marks. I never talked in English in India and never got a chance to communicate with native speakers. Then I came across The Linguist web site and I joined this site. Now I think I have been with The Linguist for almost 6 months and my English has improved a lot. Now I am working on my accent and trying to listen to various contents recorded with British accents, so that I can improve my listening ability. I hope one day I will be as fluent in English as a native speaker. I love to make new friends who are interested in English learning. I do podcasting on www.shashiingale.wordpress.com
