I have done it !!! Thanks Linguist....
I have done it….this time I got 7.5 band in IELTS exam which is the best. When I appeared for this exam last time in Jan I got 6.5. At that time, I got only 6 (out of 9) in speaking.
Here is the detailed mark sheet of my IELTS result….
Overall - 7.5 (all marks are out of 9)
Reading - 8.5 (I don’t think anyone will get out of out)
Listening – 8
Speaking – 7
Writing – 7
In Jan, I got fewer bands in speaking and writing (6 each). Then I joined the Linguist and after studying hard at the linguist now I have achieved my goal. This exam is really very tough in a sense that it includes all the aspects of English and time span for exam is very short.
I really want to thanks to all the tutors of the linguist. I personally want to thanks Steve (for creating such an efficient and wonderful method of language learning), Jill (she is my group discussion tutor) and Tracy (for correcting my writings).
I still remember my initial days when I was very nervous about my English. Then I got really good support from the Linguist team and they’ve always encouraged me to do better. I want to say thanks to Tony (he has always supported and encouraged me even though we never got chance to speak with each other), to Tana and Ruth (my group member).
I am really happy today and I want to celebrate it with all you guys……Cheers!!!!!!

Good job, Shashi~~!!!
I am happy that you got a good grades in IELTS.
It's funny that I haven't talked to you so far even though we communicate with each other via each our own blogs very often!! How about inviting me as your next guest of your podcast show??
You sometimes describe that your English was poor before, but I can't beleive that because when I talked you for the first time, it was maybe in April, your English was already very good!
I should work hard like you!
I'm very happy for you :) that's wonderful,
It is a right occasion to drink champagne!!
It's great that you've got the result you were aiming for.
Congratulations! You deserve it. You have worked very hard.
I am very interested to hear of the test results of any of our learners. I think a big factor in their success is the greater degree of confidence they take into their exams. I think that deliberately studying previous exams or focusing on the exam increases anxiety. On the other hand studying the language for enjoyment increases confidence, and improves language skills. (At least I think so, and, Shashi, you have proved it again!)
Congratulations Shashi!. Well done! We all are so happy to hear your result. You really give us an encouragement and enthusiaum for studing English.
I can`t believe that you used to be nervous about your English. As far as I listen to your podcast, your English is just great!
However, its true that my English was not that good initially. I could speak English but not fluently. I still remember my first exam. In speaking section I couldn't communicate properly with the examiner nor could I express myslef in a proper way. I think my English (speaking) improved three of four months after joining The Linguist.
Steve you are right. Eventhough I had sufficient knowledge of English I didn't have self-confidence which I got after regular discussions. And I enjoyed learning English. For this exam, I didn't prepare specifically. I have already got confidence that I could talk to anyone.....
Tony, now I am going back to India and when I will be back I will restart my podcast. I will love to talk to you....
